Hi! I'm D. Gilson, an Ozark Mountain boy whose poetry, essays, and scholarship explore the relationship between popular culture, sex, and literature.
This year, I published Crush, a collection of poetry and essays, with Will Stockton, and edited a special issue of Upstart, called Out of Sequence: The Sonnets Remixed. My first chapbook, Catch & Release, won the Robin Becker Prize from Seven Kitchens, and my second, Brit Lit, is available from Sibling Rivalry. A book of essays, Learning to Poem, is forthcoming fall 2015. I currently serve as editor of Lunch, from Punctum Books, which launches in May 2015. A graduate of the MFA program at Chatham University, I am currently a PhD candidate in American Literature & Cultural Studies at The George Washington University.
Email me. Let's be pals.
