D. Gilson is an Assistant Professor of English at Texas Tech University. His essays, poetry, and scholarship explore the relationship between popular culture, literature, personal history, and sexuality.

His latest books are I Will Say This Exactly One Time: Essays (Sibling Rivalry, 2015) and Crush with Will Stockton (Punctum Books, 2014). D. edited a special issue of Upstart: A Journal of English Renaissance Studies called Out of Sequence: The Sonnets Remixed. His first chapbook, Catch & Release, won the 2012 Robin Becker Prize from Seven Kitchens, and his second, Brit Lit, is available from Sibling Rivalry. D. currently serves as editor of the journal Lunch and lives in Lubbock with his dog, Calvin.
